A TB drug that's been approved in the US could make it's way to SA, proving TB treatment cost effective and less time consuming

The first new tuberculosis (TB) treatment in 50 years has recently been approved in the US and efforts are now being made to make it available in South African hospitals.

The new drug, bedaquiline, treats multidrug-resistant TB (MDR-TB) and costs less than the TB treatment currently available.
