A new farming project tackling unemplyment amongst HIV positive people in the North West has been rolled out

Unemployed and HIV infected people in the Ngaka Modiri Molema district emerged jubilant when they were asked to attend the skills development training programme, which will allow them to run their own farming projects.

Provincial government spokesperson Lesiba Kgwele said the programme was Premier Thandi Modise's brainchild and would commence early next year. To begin with, the project would involve 18 infected people.

Gladness Seetseng, a 39-year-old mother of three and the project's coordinator, said: "This project has not only given hope to people living with HIV and Aids. Most of us are unemployed, so the project is a lifeline for us to grab the opportunity with both hands."...read the full article
